The Lab The Lab has announced the forthcoming release of a Hellboy bust sculpted by Andy Brown. No exact details as yet, as to size etc., but once I have them I will let you know.

I have had a couple of books brought to my attention, both of them apparently published by Andrea. The first: Coversion and Scratch Building of Model Figures, is a useful reference guide to would be sculptors and anyone who has a hankering to produce their own individual piece. The second doesn’t really need any explanation: Painting Miniature Female Figures – the techniques. Both of these are available from Historex Agents UK or Historex Agents International

….on the topic of Historex they can also supply all of the figures in the Andrea Asterix series. This includes a starter kit featuring Asterix himself and his ever faithful Obelix, the other figures come separately and consist of Cetauomatix, Faitexcus, Abraracourcix and Panoramix. They are all 1:32 scale.

Pegaso Have announced the release of the Gunslinger, a 54mm white metal kit that comprises of 8 parts. Sculpted by Tony Williams, it comes with a detailed base. Check out their website

Konami A series of UFO related pre-coloured kits have been released, including Gay Ellis, a Shado Mobile, Sky One, and Skydiver.

Unknown A number of new kits have been released the details for which I am sorry to say are a little lacking. First up for Beatles fans is a 1:6 scale full figure of George Harrison. This piece comes with two separate heads each representing a different year – 1962 and 1964, as well as featuring a Gretch guitar with nylon strings, and a base that looks like an old 45 record. Also from the world of music comes a 1:6 scale Stevie Ray Vaughan. As with George the guitar has nylon strings, while the Taxas shaped base has room for the figure and an amplifier. On the popular culture front comes a two headed Alfred E Neuman so that you can go with the straight Alfred or the alternative Feudin Redneck Banjo Boy, Along with the two heads you also get two name plates.

Jim Groman Well known for his 1:8 scale swimming Gillman. Well if you missed this one the first time round, now is the time to snap it up. The whole thing has been re-tooled, and re-released. Complete with detailed base and movie title logo this is a must for fans. Check you local dealers, or contact Monsters in Motion

Internet For those of you who like to get together with other hobbyists from around the world check out the new Model Monkey forum

Offizin )-( Onovere This is a German based retailer that specialises in Military figures from around the world, but they also do a nice range of familiar busts and such like. For example they have Russell Crowe as Gladiator (200mm), Spike from Buffy, a Devil bust, as well as a series of Gary Oldman as Dracula including, the Bat, Werewolf, Old man, Young man and dying. In addition they also do a 1:9 scale Gillman bust, Nosferatu, Stitchface, a 1:7 scale Jack the Ripper, and Tom Cruise as Lestat. There is also an alternative Nosferatu sculpted by Joachim Lindman, along with the Mummy, a Vampire and a Werewolf, in 1:9 scale. Finally they also have an interesting dual character bust who I believe are supposed to be the main characters from Gone with the Wind, you know…him of the don’t give a damn ilk and her with the attitude problem. Check them out here

Phebus This is a French company who produce a mixed bag of kits, without apparently specialising in any particular genre. I have had the pleasure of building one of the pieces, and while it may have been a bugger to put together the attention to detail was impressive. The reason I am reporting this is they have a new website which can be found here that has both French and English language options. However before you rush over there they may have been a little eager in their announcement as much of it, including their kit galleries, are still under construction.

WarGames For those of you who like your kits small, as in smaller, and would like to join with other like minded individuals who will tell you exactly what they think of your build and paint – should you post pictures of your work on the site - should head over to their website

Seil This is another new one on me, some of their work is available from Offizin )-(onovere (see above), but the complete range is available from here
As with Phebus, Seil don’t seem to restrict themselves to a single genre, producing a fairly extensive range of naked and near naked females, as well as a number of busts, and 54mm, 75 and 90mm figures. Check out their website. They do a nice 75mm Vampire in white metal which I think, but don’t quote me, is supposed to be Kate Bekinsale from the Underworld movie(s), although I must have missed this particular scene.

JJ Models …have two new 10” resin kits: Asha the Bellydancer, 21 parts, and Sophie the French Maid 15 parts. JJ Models

N&T …have been busy expanding their horizons recently with an eclectic mix of resin being released. First their busts. Another new Batman to add to your collection. The Conquistador is a 4” character piece taken from the film Zombie Flesh Eaters. According the N&T this is the first official release of work done by a new sculptor who has also been the inspiration behind Goku, a 10” bust based on a Dragonball Z character. Also available now is a 12 part kit that N&T believe is their best yet, and judging by the pictures they could be right, in-fact such has been the response that they have also released the Sabretooth as a single piece as well.

Joe Simon Produced by Dave Metzner, this is a very interesting take on the belles of Batman, which probably explains why this 16 part kit is called the Belles of Gotham.

The Lab Two new pieces have been announced from the Lab. Mean Machine is a 1:6 scale plaque featuring the popular 2000AD villain. While the dead is a restless Zombie rising from its grave. Both of these have been sculpted by Andy Brown, who as a little quirk has left the Zombie headstone blank so you can add your own details – open to abuse me thinks on this own. Website

Draven Models The work put out by Draven invariably twists my throttle, especially the take on the Simpsons characters. I’m not a great fan of the show but the imaginative pieces that have come from Draven have that element of quirkiness about them that make them irresistible, and the new edition is no exception. Here we have Bartburster, a take on the classic Alien scene but now we have Bart bursting from Homer! This plaque measures at around 9 x 7” and comes in two pieces.
The T.E.C.H. is an original concept bust, that has enough variety in its textures that it should keep any painter happy for hours. Last, but not least, is Ghost Rider. This 1:3 scale resin bust comes in two parts, and is based on the comic book character of the same name. Draven also have a new website which can be found here

MouldArt Note that Mouldart have moved, the new address is: Trent House Studios. Trent Walk, Hanley, Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire. ST1 3HE. Their email is still the same mouldart@aol.com as is the website address

Neil Sims I await each release form Neil with baited breath because the quality of his work is so exceptional, and this trio prove just that. First up is Epona the Celtic Horse Goddess, this 7” bust has the Goddess resting on a base of horses. The Pixie, also 7”, is something to challenge all those modellers who enjoy nudes, the Brownie Pixie is male, I’ll bet there ain’t many men rushing to buy this one.
Finally a literary bent with Bram Stokers Dracula. Not the usual movie character, this is a nice 6” bust from the classic gothic horror novel.

N&T Like Neil’s work the pieces produced by N&T also have me waiting in anticipation and the recent crop of releases have more than met my expectations.
In the figure category comes Deadslinger, a 12” tall gunman that is a vision in black. In the Cheesechasers series are three caricatures from Lord of the Rings, they are Gollmouse, Grandmouse and Legamouse. They don’t need explaning, the names say it all.
Two new busts have also come along, Daredevil and Arnie as the Terminator, with exoskeletal arm. Both are approximately 8” tall, and come with the plinths embossed with their names.

Authentic Kits UK Authentic recently announced the development of their Batman Begins bust, this will be available alongside their other releases, for example their Predator bust. Authentic only have a small number of kits available at the moment, but they are worth checking out at their unfortunately things seem to have gone quiet, however here is their Website

Frontier Models Predators have been high on the menu at Frontier over the past few months. First up there is a new full figure kit: Ancient Predator (seated on an alien horse). This kit is approximately 12” in height and weighs in at bench creaking 3 kilos. Also available is an impressive, and I mean impressive, 20” bust. The Predator Elder Bust has to be seen to be believed, and should offer a canvas for all modellers to produce a very eye catching result. A new diorama to challenge the pre-paints that have come out in the last year is the 1:6 scale ‘Cosmic Confrontation’, this has a full figure Predator standing over an Alien that is either rising out of the ground, or is perhaps sinking in quick sand. The Final Battle is another double featuring Predator and Alien, this time the 1:6 scale kit has them in a violent confrontation. A 1:5 scale Predator is typical of the genre, although to my tired eyes this one looks a little pudgy round the middle, perhaps that explains the hand held artillery. A second 1:5 scale kit, while similar in its pose has the feeling of a great deal more menace about it. The Galaxy Hunter on the other hand is a very imposing bit of sculpting. This is a 1:5 scale kit, that has the hunter holding his captive, who if he isn’t dead is decidedly unwell. The Unknown Predator on the other hand is on is own. The pose looks a little static at first glance, but when you look closer the sculptor has done a first rate job in giving the character a inquisitive tilt to the head as though he is listening to something – you perhaps.
I don’t recall seeing anything from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen until now, with the release of the Nautilus. This is a 1:700 scale plastic model which will measure up at 16” when complete.
The Last Son of Krypton, is as you would expect is Superman. This one is a little different as it depicts the Man of Steel in flight, with a base that represents the famous ‘S’ chest insignia. A full figure kit in 1:6 scale. A must for Soop’s fans.
A 1:6 full figure kit based on the Chronicles of Riddick would appear to have got the likeness of Vin Diesel spot on, this one is well worth a look if you enjoyed the films.
The Alien Queen bust is similar in size to the Predator bust mentioned above, and would make a great companion piece, if you have the space. Coming in at 30”, this four handed bust has the queen in attack mode. Very striking.
The popular comic character Witchblade has received the resin treatment in the form of a 1:4 scale full figure, this is a very demure looking kit. Staying with the Ladies, and for those of you who like your women feisty, then perhaps Homura will float it for you, or perhaps Tenia or Namikawara Nazuki (both of which have more name then clothes). Also in the Japanese vein, is the UGB Warrior a fearsome looking character that stands approximately 10” when built, lovers of Manga will no doubt appreciate this one.
If you know the TV comedy series Little Britain, then you will know the characters Lou and Andy. This kit is one of those caricature pieces that you could paint and actually display in the living room, it would make a great talking point. Apparently only a 100 have been made so get in quick. Another lady, this time well known, is Catherine Zeta Jones. She is presented at 24” in a 1:3 scale 2 piece resin kit, got to be worth a look.
Elecktra is one of those characters who hasn’t had the resin attention she deserves, but this little 80mm white metal kit partially makes up for it. Nice looking kit.
Contact Frontier through their Website

Trifon Miniatures As with most miniature companies Trifon split their release between the usual military figures and others, in this case they have a small but select range that covers Sci-Fi, and Fantasy, including Trinity from the Matrix, Predator and the Hulk to name only three. Check out their Website

NTLA A new one on me this, but for fans of the Alien sage they have produced a detailed relief wall plaque. At 12 x 12” it is no shrinking violet.

Geometric A new selections of busts have been released, all in 1:4 scale you just know they are going to be stamped with the usual Geo quality. In the line are a Celtic Predator, Chatterer from Hellraiser and a Jeepers Creepers. Also in the offing is a 1:8 scale figure from Night of the Living Dead.

Crazy Frog …have released a 1:6 scale resin Batman figure, unfortunately there seems to be less life in this figure then there was in the Batman franchise following the Clooney outing.

Eric Won In an interesting little twist, and something that you don’t see every day is a model kit with a religious theme. In this case Joan of Arc, a 1:6 scale resin kit. Interesting. Also available is Brad Pitt as Achilles, also in 1:6 scale resin, with a likeness that is exceptional.

Jeff Yeager A new 1:6 scale, 12”, Nosferatu. The likeness to Klaus Kinski is exceptionally good on this one.

LB Collectables I loved the Dark Crystal when it came out, so it is about time that something resin related reached the shelves – better late then never I suppose. Skeksis castle is a 22 piece resin kit, that measures in at 12” in height when complete.

Chris Elizardo Chris has got to be one of my favourite sculptors, and its always good to see his work both as it develops and in production. Over the past few months he has released details of his many projects, including Yoda. This is a neat 5” figure in fighting mode. He has also produced a mighty Conan figure. This piece is reminiscent of the figures produced by Jay Dee which were always full of movement. Also completed was a Werewolf sculpt, another piece that is full of movement.
Beldar Conehead was produced for Jimmy Flintstone, in 1:4 scale, and should be available from dealers, or direct from Jimmy Flintstone himself. Chris has also completed a project for CD Productions – see below.
To see Chris’ work check out the in progess page on his Website

CD Productions Have announced the release of their two Phantom of the Opera busts Herbert Lom and Claude Rains, both sculpted by Chris Elizardo. For details email

Dan Perez Dan has announced the availability of a new Wolverine bust. This 1:6 scale resin piece looks good. If intested contact Dan through his Website

Needful Things Here we have Marv from Sin City. Sculpted by Jim Sweet, this 1:6 scale resin kit comes with a detailed Sin City base, a severed head and a hacksaw.

Make-up and Monsters A 1:4 scale bust based on the Jeepers Creepers character. Check out the piece at the monster Websitre

Super Edge From this Japanese company comes Dark Hunter, a 1:6 scale Predator that stands over a foot tall and has amazing detail on the figure and Base. This is a highly detailed model kit made of expertly cast resin.

Hard Hero A few new statues have been announced in recent months, and while Hard Hero specialise in pre-painted figures it is possible to purchase ‘artist proof editions’, unfortunately for readers outside of the US and Canada they may not be available unless you have someone over there who is willing to act on your behalf.
Available now is Thor, a 15” limited edition, while on pre-order are 14” editions of The Sub-Mariner, Captain America, Hawkeye and Hulk. Each comes with a detailed based and are all sculpted by Seth Vendable.
They also do a selection of X-Men figures, Transformers and their well known fantasy range. See the Hard Hero website for more details: here

Fine Molds This Millennium Falcon has apparently been tooled from one of the actual models used during filming.

Altier Gaigan apparently comes in a soft vinyl and an internal armature that allows it to be posed.

Monsters in Motion Another Harryhausen tribute kit, this time in the shape of the Wooden Siren from the Golden Voyages of Sinbad, it will stand just over 12” when built. Also available is a King Kong bust, which they state has been created from photos of the original life size stunt head used in the classic 1933 film. Another King Kong is an 18” double figure – Kong and his victim, complete with detailed base.
From AVP comes two new 1:6 scale kits. The Alien warrior stands approximately 12” from head to tail, as does the Elder Predator, which is supplied with a helmet and staff.
Considering the popularity of the films there hasn’t really been that much from Lord of the Rings, but here is a rather stunning 24” resin and vinyl Cave Troll. Comes with chain and arrows.
Dracula and Nosferatu are both very popular characters, and in the past couple of years the likeness have improved considerably, and this resin kit does not buck the trend. Standing 18” in height this is Max Schreck from the 1922 classic, at his evil best. Frankenstein and the Werewolf meanwhile get the Shawn Nagle treatment. Taken from the Monsters of Filmland artwork, this 1:6 scale kit features a confrontation between the characters on a detailed base complete with wall section.
It always amazed me that a man who said so little, said so much. Clint Eastwood in the spaghetti trilogy featuring the man with no name is one of those irresistible characters, and this kit should be a must for any fans of the films or Eastwood himself. This resin kit stands 12” in height and features one of the best likenesses I have seen.
See their website here

Amok Time To follow on from the above comes another Eastwood tribute. This time in the shape of William Munny from the Unforgiven. This is suggested to be an easy assembly kit that which stands just over 14” when complete, comes with removable hat.
The Ghoul, or the Corpus Delicti comes with a detailed graveyard base and will measure in at around 8” when finished. While Fathers Day maybe a little shorter at 13” it is no less gruesome. In four parts assembly should not be a problem, although it unfortunately does not feature a base. Another kit that does not come with a base is Mr Barlow a 12” resin kit, that again boasts easy assembly.
Also from the horror stable are two new kits in the form of Jordy Verrill and Henrietta. Jordy as we know comes from Creepshow, and this 1:6 (10” tall) scale kit features a very good likeness along with a crater base and meteor. Henrietta on the other hand is one of the Evil Dead, and is 1:1 scale hollow cast bust feature realistic crepe hair.
Legend is also 1:1 scale. In three parts it measure 34” in total, and comes in red (bust) and black (horns) resin. David Dunn from Unbreakable comes with two hood options, either up or down. This 14” tall figure comes in 5 parts, with colour box art.

Pegaso Pegaso have released a number of new figures. First up is the Cymmerian Warrior sculpted by Andrea Jula (http://www.pegasomodels.it/details_en.asp?code=75-019). This is an 8 piece white metal character that will measure in at 75mm when complete, unlike ‘Eligor the Duke of War ‘ which is a hefty 400mm (http://www.pegasomodels.it/details_en.asp?code=FW-008). The Duke is a 17 piece resin figure that anyone would be proud to have on their shelves when complete. Finally there is the ‘Werewolf’, a 200mm figure that comes as a mix of white metal and resin parts (Pegaso).

Chris Elizardo In the months that I have been tied up Chris has continued his phenomenal work rate, producing stuff for himself and for others, which is a testament to his skills. Most of these can be seen on his website ( EStudios ), but to give a little taster here is some of the information he has released.
Chris is currently working on Beldar Conehead for Jimmy Flintstone. This piece comes in at around the 1:4 scale, which means it should stand at around 8” in height. Also for Jimmy Flintstone was Uncle Creepy, which according to Chris is the biggest mini bust he has sculpted to date, at 1:3 scale it stands over 7” tall. Another commission, this time for Mojo Resin is Barnabas Collins from the Dark Shadows TV series.
Inhumanly Possible, a new kit company, has picked up Gigantis, for more details contact Kevin . To get a look at these pieces, along with Uncle Creepy who is currently in the works, check out Chris’s website EStudios

Geometric Since they re-emerged Geometric have continued an impressive release schedule of both resin and vinyl items. So far this year they have released four new busts. Sculpted by Joe Simon comes the H.P. Lovecraft character the Unnamable, Blackula, Predator and Metaluna Mutant. These are all 1:4 scale and should be available from your local store, if not contact Geometric direct through the website: Geometric

CD Productions A new series, Phantoms of the Silver Screen, has started for CD Productions with an initial 1:4 sculpt of Claude Rains from Phantom of the Opera. This piece was sculpted by Chris Elizardo. It can be seen and ordered through the link: here

Hofi International This is a new name for me, but it seems they specialise in military figures, but as with most companies of this nature they have a thriving sideline of a none military nature. In this case there are two new 120mm figures; Sword Lady, an alternative version of the Amazon Warrior, Marilyn Monroe. Check with your local store for availability.

Laszlo Waiting as I am for Gary at G-Force to reproduce his Labyrinth kit I was hoping that the Laszlo bust of David Bowie as the Goblin King would be a reasonable stop gap, check the pictures, and don’t be put off if you see this one credited to the Dark Crystal – someone got their wires crossed.

N & T This premier British producer is back on track, best wishes to Trevor after his recent illness, with a number of exceptional releases. The Lord of the Rings continues to impact around the world and the full figure Hobbit should be a must for any fan, at 7” in height he is in keeping with the others in the range that N&T put out a little while back.
In the superhero and villain bust range there are three new additions: Hush, Firefly and Charaxes. These are all 7” tall. As for full figure kits there are two very impressive pieces first the Bis Bat, coming in at a tasteful 14” in height, and only a little below this at 12” is Deadslinger, the Undead Marshall.
Finally there is also the Man of Steel, a 10” piece that apparently measures 12” across from hand to hand. Check out the website here

Andrea New from Andrea comes a 54mm, 28 piece white metal kit of Arnie as the Terminator, complete with his Harley! From the pictures the detail in this one is phenomenal in something that is so small.

Daimos Daimos is releasing Anguirus from Godzilla Final War! This is a 10 piece resin kit that will stand 11” tall when finished.

Frontier Models Frontier have announced the availability of a number of new kits, the details for which, including ordering can be found on their website: here For fans of the big gorilla there is massive 10”, 3kg, King Kong Bust sculpted by John James Woodward. Also available are a 7” Hulk and a 1:6 scale Predator (Narin) bust, a 1:6 scale vinyl Dracula, a 1:6 scale resin Wonder Woman, and from Narin a 1:5 scale Predator.
Steve has also announced that he can now supply the Phoenix Follies 80mm Metal kits, and also the range of JJ Models. These are adult orientated kits, so anyone under the age of concent should stay away.

Monsters in Motion MiM have announced a couple of items that are now available. The 1:6 scale Taarna in Armour is listed as a Heavy Metal kit, that stands over 12” in height. It comes with instructions and full colour box art From the talents of John Garcia comes the Smog Monster, a 12” pollution monster.

Dinosaurs Any one looking for highly detailed dinosaurs should check out David Krentz Presentz, his sculptures vary in size fro 1:72 to 1:18 approximately. http://www.krentzpresentz.com/

Resin Chef Team Ukeke Sculpted by Bill Gudmundson, Manda is a 13 part kit that will stand 30cm in height when complete.

Kaiju Freaks From Kaiju comes a 1964 Godzilla, this is a follow up piece to their recent Mothra release, unfortunately it is difficult to tell from the picture what is going on. Is the big lizard supposed to be lying down, or is he meant to stand on the base?

Kappa Dou Destroyah! This is another Godzilla character.

Shinzen Shinzen have released Godzilla vs Battra Larva. This looks like a very intricate piece, and is one of the more interesting Godzilla that I have come across recently.

Aurora Aurora have released what is described as a deluxe model kit that pays homage to the vintage monsters of yesteryear. This is Jeff Yagher’s version of the James Bama artwork for Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. This 1:9 scale resin kit comes with a laboratory section that includes a table, vials, and wooden floor. There will also an accessory kit available that will include clear resin beakers and flasks. Check with your local dealers for availability.

Kotobukiya This Japanese company is and has been releasing a series of pre-painted Star Wars vinyl kits. In the series so far are Chewbacca who is made up of 10 parts and measures in at an impressive 15”, the Sand Trooper is a little shorter at 11”, but Darth Vader takes it up a bit at 13”. Darth Maul is in 1:7 scale, as is Yoda. Finally there is Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Ewan Mcgregor version. Check with your local dealers.

Anonymous Received this info, but with no information on the producers. It is a 1:3 scale bust of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in 11 parts, that will stand approximately 14" when finished. All I know is that it can be obtained from a guy called Dave, and it was sculpted by Steve West.

BOOKS The Art of Painting Miniatures by Alex Castro. ISBN 1-902579-62-3 Compendium There are of course a number of books available on painting miniature figures, but invariably they tend to be aimed at military modellers, and while the skills may be transferable the content is not always that appealing. Doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned veteran or a beginner, this is a book worth adding to your shelf.

Joe Hope/N&T Some time back I gave details of a little piece that Joe Hope was working on. At the time I suggested that it was one of the most unique and interesting ideas that I had seen in a ling time. However after a lot of hard work and soul searching Joe decided to scrape the pentagram back drop that he had planned to use for the piece, which I felt made the piece stand out from the crowd. But having seen the newly finished piece, Joe has maintain the uniqueness and inspiration.

Gorillaskull Promised for the new year are two kits from Chris at Gorillaskull. Both are classics. The first up is a take on Frankenstein’s monster and the second is Nosferatu. What makes these little gems different is the humour that Chris has endorsed them with. The current plan is to produce a limited run of 40 of 50 of these kits at a bargain price of $20-30. However his can only be done if the cost of the resin and the moulds is kept to a minimum.
Expect each kit to come in at around 8” in height with only 2 or 4 pieces to assemble. Sound ideal for enticing younger modellers into the hobby.
Chris’s long term plan is to release 1 kit a month, concentrating on three genres: Horror, Fantasy, and Superheroes/Damsels in distress – or is that 4 genres?
Check out the pdf for the pictures. But anyone interested can contact Chris

GOODBYE Nicolas Tanguma has announced that Resin D'Etre has ceased trading. It is always a sad occasion when kit producers close their doors, and an unpleasant task when reporting it, especially when the producer in question had such admirable goals.

Female kits, like pre-painted figures are a fact of life, but will often feed discussions among modellers. Two new(!) companies that have emerged in recent months catering to lovers of the erotic female form, but who aren’t into modelling, are Plastika, http://www.plastika.net/ and Iconia http://www.iconia.co.uk With fairly hefty price tags on most of the pieces these are perhaps geared more toward the serious collector, but interesting non-the-less to check out UK talent as far as sculpting is concerned, unfortunately Iconia do not appear to have their full range listed on the website.

A couple of sculptors have received some publicity on and around the internet boards of late. First up is Simon Robinson, based in the UK and producing some very fine work. The pieces he has listed in his portfolio would all make fine kits.
Chris Elzardo has been keeping himself busy over the past few months, not only has he continued his work on the Shinoden bust, but he has also started a 1:6 scale Reeves as Superman bust.

01-11-03

Draven have also taken over all of Dragonwyches busts as well as their Zombie kit. These are due for re-release over the next 6-8 months and will feature new boxart and different bases.
Finally Draven have announced that they are currently negotiating the release of three new figure kits.

Neil Sims Where does he find the time? Not only is Neil sculpting his impressive pieces for Killer Kits, but he is continuing to put out his own range. Following last months Jack comes a 1:4 scale Dr Phibes, or Vincent Price. This is an awesome sculpt and perhaps one of the best Price likenesses I have seen. For further details contact Neil

Dave Trelfer The message is so loud it is deafening, and speaks volumes when you consider that the most popular kit character from Lord of the Rings so far is a cgi invention. Gollum. And here is another one. Sculpted by Dave Trelfer this 1:4 scale bust comes in two solid resin parts. The price, not including postage, is £18.99. Dave can be contacted at: Dave

Killer Kits Now available a 1:3 scale Grim Reaper bust. This looks like a nice piece, and a must have for any closet Goths…. Insane is a resin one piece 1:3 scale bust of Batman’s arch nemesis. Another 1:3 scale bust, anyone see a pattern developing here, is of The Monster.
Hot on the heels of the self-release from Neil Sims comes a full figure 1:6 scale kit of Jack, “Beware the Moon”, from An American Werewolf in London, not surprisingly also sculpted by Neil, and a damn fine piece it looks too.

N&T …are making Daredevil fans an offer they will find hard to resist. Following a good response to the recent bust release, and a number of requests to produce the figure in his original “vest”, the idea has been taken just a little further then expected. N&T are releasing an additional two versions (making three in total). Vest and armour versions now complement the original. Each is available for £30 (unpainted) or £40 (painted). Or if you opt for all three then the deal is as follows: Buy all 3 and only pay for 2 i.e. 3 Painted for only £80 (approx. $130) or 3 Kits for only £60 (approx $96). New from Dan Perez and available through N&T is Warrior Princess, or according to Dan: Psylocke. Standing approx 5” tall this will make a nice edition to any superhero collection. Priced at £45 (painted) and £30 (kit) it won’t break the bank. Order code is M18.
And now, as promised in the previous newsletter, is the start of what could prove to be a new, and enduring range, for N&T. First off the shelf come the Man of Steel (S2) himself, along with his girlfriend (S1) and the ubiquitous villain (S3). They are the same scale as the very popular Dark Knight series, and so will not look out of place in any collection feature any of the previous characters. Priced at £60 (painted) and £35 (kit), and a postage tag of only £1-00 per bust, (within the U.K. ONLY) you can’t go wrong. Customers outside of the U.K should add £3-00 per bust. However any orders for all 3 (together), and postage free (regardless of destination).

Blix Studios John Guenther of Blix recently announced the completion of Berserker from the Nightbreed film for Nitemare Collectibles. Check out the pictures on his website: Blix

ONN These boys are really pushing the boat out. Seems like the get a mention every month. But this one even had my mouth watering. Raider of the Tomb 2 is a 1:4 Resin kit, and I think the picture in the pdf tells the whole story.

Forbidden Zone Have finally announced the availablitity of the two Mike Hill sculpted busts. Check out their website for more details: Forbidden Zone

B.T.T.G In a recent announcement B.T.T.G stated that two new kits were available, and that while stocks last there was a special offer on a concept study piece. Unfortunately while they offered up their website address they gave no indication which piece was which. If you are interested contact them direct B.T.T.G.

Predator Another Predator squeezes onto an already bloated market. 1:5 scale apparently, which means it will stand approximately 17” tall. I usually like Predator kits (regardless of whether I buy them), but I’m not sure about this one.

UFO Anyone into the old Gerry Anderson TV series UFO may be interested in three new Skydiver releases. These highly detailed kits come in 12 (£45), 22 (£115) and 36 (£349) inch versions.

Jayco ….announced recently that the 1:8 scale ‘Death of a Mate’ is in production, and that they are taking pre-orders now. The base for this Wayne the Dane Hansen sculpt has been remodelled, and is to be produced in solid pressure cast resin for best quality, it will also come with certificate signed by sculptor. You can contact JayCo

Killer Kits The information re- the reissue of the 5th Sense range is contradictory. Some sources suggest that they are available now, others point to it being another month or more they reach the stores. However some teaser pictures have been released which can be found in the pdf. However an interesting fact has emerged about the Clint Eastwood Fistful of Resin kit, and that is that it now comes complete with a batwing door base – check the photo.

Diceman Creations Coming soon, hopefully for the January Chiller show, are the new Jim Phillps sculpts of Leatherface and Jason. These two full figures will be in 1:5 scale, and will have interlocking bases so they can be displayed together.

Chris Elizardo ….has been keeping busy. Not only is he currently completing a project for Funcore of Shinoden, a sword wielding samurai cyborg form Machine Underworld, he is also putting the finishing touches to a number of other sculpts. One of these has been the Red Baron for Mojo Resin, which is being cast by Jimmy Flintstone. Check his gallery

Planet X Who should be well known to UK modellers are releasing the MFP1 Car from Mad Max. This 1:25 scale kit will be supplied with mixed media (resin, white metal and rubber – tyres). It has a fully detailed interior and chassis. Retail price should be around £57.00

Neil Simms Now on a roll Neil continues his current rate of productivity with another gruesome piece (something of a passion with Neil) this time it is Jack Goodman (played by Griffin Dunne) from ‘An American Werewolf in London,’ in all his rotting glory. The likeness of this one piece resin bust is first rate, and the sale of 1:4 will give it appeal not only to fans of the film, but also to bust fans, and those modellers who prefer bigger pieces. Expected price will be around the £40 mark.

N&T I suggested last month that something new was coming from N&T, and here it is: Hulk Hogan. Hogan is the first of an officially licensed series of WWF wrestlers that will appear in the coming months. Standing around 11” in height this figure is no slouch, and will make an impressive contrast to the usual modelling fare found on shelves. Retail price for the kit should be around £40, while a pre-painted figure will be approximately £50

G-Force It has been very quite on the Canadian front of late, however I have been sent details of a new bust that is due for release in the next couple of months, and for fans of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ it will be very welcome. Johnny Depp played Captain Jack Sparrow to perfection in the latest from the Disney stable, and Gary White has paid the same attention to this bust of the artful pirate. Coming in at 1:2 scale, the bust will be cast in solid resin and will be accompanied by a number of extras (amounting to 13 pieces). Gary expects the price to be around $100. Also due in the near future is a re-release of the Goblin King. David Bowie as Jareth from the kids favourite Labyrinth. G-Force can be contacted through their website: G-Force

Dragonwyche A little while back I announced the release of a 1:6 scale comic version of Elektra Natchios from Daredevil. At the time I had no details, but I can now reveal that this impressive piece came from Dragonwyche. The kit comes in solid resin with white metal sai's and a ribbon for the costume ties. With a release date of Nov 02, the more recent versions come with a scenic base. Retail price is £38. Contact Dragonwyche: Martin Thomas, Dragonwyche Miniatures Tyndale view , Pinetree way, Viney Hill, Lydney Glos GL15 4NT UK Alternatively contact your local retailer.

Killer Kits Sculpted by Neil Simms, this has got to be one of the best likenesses currently on the market. This full figure kit comes in at 1:6 scale (12” tall) and is complete with white metal sword and base, and should be available from your local outlet for around £59.00. KK have also released another kit based on the ever-popular Only Fools and Horses sitcom. This time it is the turn of Boysey and Marlene to get the resin treatment. Price should be just under to £100 mark. Also coming soon from Killer Kits is Dr Tongue, a 1:3 scale bust sculpted by Paul Fay. For Killer Kits releases check your local outlet, or check them out direct:Killer Kits

Onn Onn have released two Star Wars figure kits (Storm Trooper and Boba Fett) that are bound to prove popular with fans. They are not particularly big, 5” tall, but the detail is reported to be excellent. Expect to pay around £18.00 each.

David Malin In a recent announcement David Malin revealed that he had reached an agreement to supply the impressive Daredevil kit sculpted by Rodolfo ‘Fito’ Dellibarda. David hopes to have the first kits available early this month, and is expecting that they will retail for around $100. Contact David direct

Mike Hill Recently announced were two new busts, Karloff as the Frankenstein monster and Lugosi as Dracula. Both are 1:4 scale. Unfortunately no details of how to obtain these in the UK as yet, so anyone interested should contact Forbidden Zone in the US, although according to their website they may not be available there at the current time. Forbidden Zone

Onn Soon to come is another Arnie it has been revealed. This time Arnie, as a full figure, is depicted as the infamous T800 from the Terminator trilogy of films, tentatively titled “Rise of the Resin”. This will be limited run piece so anyone interested should contact Frontier Models to express their interest. The only photos available so far show an in progress shot of the upper portions of the kit. The likeness looks good, and the detail impressive. The suggestion is that this kit will stand over 24” tall. More details as I get them. Frontier

Start Over/W.A.D. Productions Momma’s Little Helpers should now be available. Sculpted by Wes at Start Over/WAD Productions these Alien eggs could be just what you are looking for to dress up your Alien base. WAD has its own website here: WAD

Monsters in Motion Details were recently released from MM about the new 1:6 scale Casablanca Bogart kit, which comes with a highly detailed base. Retailing at around the $100 mark excluding postage check out the MM website for more details. Monsters in Motion

Dragonwyche Detailed in the last issue Dragonwyche’s Rogue can now be seen in all her glory. Standing at 16 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide this 4 part resin kit should retail for around £45. Check the picture in the pdf. Also available from Dragonwyche are a series of small figures that basically take the donut…so to speak. Captain Homer, Hominator and Homer as Batman. I don’t think I need to go into any great detail because the titles speak for themselves. These are great little pieces, a joy to build and paint and at around the £15 mark they make wonderful fillers between bigger projects. For further details on all of these check out the Draven website…Make it So Draven

N&T Harley Quinn joins the line-up of the Bat Heroes and Villains range. Produced to scale this one will retail at the usual £35 (unpainted) £60 (painted). A new idea from N&T is to order any two busts from their range and have them supplied with a joint base, and a brass plaque to which your own message can be added. Price will be approximately £70 (unpainted) £110 (painted) excluding postage Considering the range of busts that N&T produce the possibilities are endless. For further details contact N&T via their website: N&T

Chris Dillon Another new name to add to the growing list of emerging sculptors. Chris is currently planning a website through which he will be offering for sale examples of his work in kit form. One of which is likely to be King Kong, tentatively titled Generic Gorilla(!). What makes Chris’ work different is the humour that he is putting into his sculpts

Draven Models Available now is an impressive Hulk bust. Sculpted and available originally from Neil Harvey Draven have acquired the rights to produce and sell all future releases of this impressive piece. Standing at a dominating 6” this is one of the better representations of the character, with bags of action and drama in the expression and through the suggested movement in the pose. Fans of the Hulk could do no worse than opting for this piece over all others. Available at the wallet friendly price of £15 for the kit and £25 for the painted version (excluding postage), you will have change enough to treat yourself to something else...perhaps some of the new pieces that Draven are preparing…. … which will add to the growing range of in-house kits that are currently being offered. First up is Lisa Simpson as Regan from the Exorcist, which will be followed by the character Kryten from the popular Brit TV series Red Dwarf. As soon as I get more details I will pass them on. Draven

JayCo Mark VanTine has sculpted a very special looking ‘Monster bust’, that JayCo are putting out as a companion piece to their Bride bust. Also included with the kit are a length of chain, some rope, a shackle, and a torch which according to the release are optional for customizing the base, bolts for neck and a signed and numbered certificate. At approximately 9" in height this is the tallest of the series. Cost is a reasonable $70 plus postage (shipping) Jay Co

Dragonwyche The quietly growing range of Dragonwyche kits continues to impress. To complement their two Catwoman figures comes another female superhero, this time in the shape of Rogue. This is the X-Men character who will be depicted wearing the popular yellow/green leather jacket costume in and ‘in flight’ pose. This 6 part kit, which will stand about 16” tall when finished will come with a piece of clear acrylic rod on which to suspend the figure above a 'x' base. Unfortunately the picture isn’t very clear, however from what I can see this is a very good likeness. Dragonwyche don’t unfortunately have a website, however if you are interested contact Draven Models: Draven

Gremlynz I am still waiting the nod on releasing details of the new Gremlynz piece that has been promised, but I will say that what I have seen so far is impressive. For Harry Potter fans there is a new two piece kit available of the teenage wizard himself, for more information contact Gremlynz at: Gremlynz

N&T Based on the rate at which N&T are releasing new kits it can only be speculated that these guys ‘don’t sleep. The new release I hinted at a few issues back is finally available. Smeagol was debuted at the NEC and is destined to be one of the most popular of the LOTR series. Unlike other versions he has been sculpted to scale with the existing Lord of the Rings kits, and will therefore fit right in. Coming in 7 cold cast pieces (including wooden plinth) each kit is numbered (a brass plate – supplied) and limited to only 500 worldwide. It will retail for £50. Also new are two more Batman pieces, but don’t expect any of the usual suspects. This time round they have turned to one of the alternative worlds and brought us the Fallen Knight, or for the uninitiated Batman as a Vampire. There are two versions available a bust (£35) and a full figure (£40). The bust stands 8” tall, only one inch shorter than the full figure and both have been produced to N&T’s usual high standards in cold cast porcelain. For fans of Terry Prachett’s Discworld comes Nanny Ogg and Greebo. In no certain scale the likenesses for this bust has been taken directly (with a little artistic licence) from the pages of The Prachett Portfolio, so they are as close to the accepted characters as possible, although to my mind Greebo is a little too well kempt. Finally comes Elvis…A particular favourite of N&T (this is the third release, the second bust, and the second kit), and I have to say it is the closest likeness yet. At approximately 1:2 scale it is a sizeable piece, and the first to be produced in resin. However it doesn’t really stop there, N&T have plans and things are afoot. Expect in the near future the start of a new range of busts, and also if things go the right way, a new figure kit – which will be a departure of sorts for the guys at N&T.

Onn Have announced a new 1:2 scale Arnie bust, slating it as being from End of Days. Now I’m sorry if I’m being particularly moronic, but such a title seems irrelevant as this bust could be based on any number of the characterisation that Arnie has played.

Chris Elizardo Chris has announced the completion of The Penguin, and further progress on Robin. Both of these should satisfy fans of the Dark Knight and the cast of characters that inhabit Gothum City, while at the same time Robin should draw in general modellers who like something a little different.

Electra Don’t get confused Electra is not referring to a new company but the popular comic book character. This is a nice looking kit, for which unfortunately I don’t have any details. My only advice would be to contact your local dealer.

Frontier Models Frontier have announced the expected arrival of a batch of new kits, some of them may be familiar others may be new to you, but in the pot will be some succulent pieces from the US based Mojo Resin. Superheroes abound in this news. First comes Spiderman, a 1:6 scale kit that has the web slinger secured to the base by his own webs (£59.50), next we have Captain America leaping a wall to biff the dreaded Nazi invaders (Let Freedom Ring - £75). This is a nice 1:12 scale diorama that should keep resin junkies happy for a few nights. Finally in the figure range comes Phantom 2, another 1:8 scale diorama that offers just a little more for your money (£69.50), coming as it does with two figures and a very detailed base. For fans of the Bat there are two new busts, the 1:3 scale Adam West bust (£59.50) and a more stylised (a’la Alex Ross) version (1:8 scale £29.50). Aficionados of busts would do well to check the 1:8 scale Wonderwoman bust (£49.50), this one has something about it that with a good paint job….. In more standard mode comes a good looking 1:6 scale Arnie figure from the movie Commando which will set you back around £89. Now for something a little unusual. The Simpsons have, in the past few years, become the target of sculptors who are looking to produce something a little different. So far we have had such releases as Count Burns, Homer Lee, Hominator, Bartman… and these are just the tip of the iceberg. Now come The Simpsters. This is a 1:8 scale diorama consisting of 5 figures (Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Grandpa) standing before a gothic door doing a passable ‘Munsters’ impression. Expect to part with £89.50 for this baby. Frontier

Killer Kits A new Monster bust sculpted by Paul Fay is due from Killer Kits. Coming in at 1:3 scale this is an impressive likeness as would be expected from Pauls talented hands.

RUMOURS Rumours abound like urban legends so I make no claim as to the reliability of the following. But in line with their recent activity of buying up OOP moulds, and acquiring future production rights, Killer Kits is suggested to be on the trail of the Creatures Unlimited range. Now anyone who remembers this company will also recall the quality of the subjects they put out: among them the Predator ‘Confrontation piece.’ If this rumour is true and KK are successful then UK modellers can expect to lay their hands on some wonderful models that have long been unavailable.

N&T Could this be the start of a new regular line? Fans of the Spiderman will be pleased to note that N&T have turned their attention to our favourite web slinger and announced the release of two new busts. Coming in the form of well known Spider villains, first up we have the Green Goblin, closely followed by the 80’s introduced Hobgoblin. Both stand an impressive 4.5” inches tall on their bases, and will retail at £18 ($28) each (unpainted). Seems like a sure winner if a whole range is planned.
Also newly announced is the ‘Gargoyle,’ and although I’m not sure of the origins of this piece it is the type of thing on which a giant Bat or sticky Spider could be found clinging too at the top of some Gothic Highrise. An unpainted Gargoyle will set you back a miserly £10 ($16), but if you buy the two goblins you can get it half price. plus postage.
Another bust to come through N&T from the talented hands of Kennth O’Keeffe is Grendel Prime, and at the risk of looking a fool I have to hold my hands up on this character and admit that I know nothing about it. This piece will make a good companion to the early Daredevil release, standing as it does 6” tall. Unpainted expect to pay £30.
I have also been let into a little secret, but until I get the go ahead I have to keep it under my hat. However expect to see something very soon from N&T that will add to one of their current ranges.

GREMLYNZ Gremlynz has something new on the horizon, and it may just prove to be a winner. No formal announcement has been made as yet so I cannot reveal the details, but first indications are that Neil Simms is doing a very fine job.

KEITH COUSINS Not a name that many would find familiar, but a constant presence around the kit building fraternity who publicise their work over the internet. What makes Keith special now is his ownership of the Lee Ames American Warewolf in London kit. This was one of the nicest pieces to come out at the time, and the intervening years has not diminished its impact. With some remodelling, and a first rate cast through N&T Keith has a great piece that he is offering for sale. The kit measures approximately 11” in length, which makes it about 1:6 scale, and comes in two pieces (base & figure) price is £49.99 as a kit excluding postage. Contact him via:
Keith Cousins

ONN Have released a 1:6 scale resin kit to coincide with the release of this years (hope for summer blockbuster) The Hulk. Now not having seen the film I shouldn’t really comment, but if this is the quality of kit that is going to appear on the market then I for one will be giving them a miss.

GARY HILLIARD Has finally released the long awaited 1:1 scale Reaperman bust. Expect to pay £120.

DAN PEREZ A few month back I reported that Dan Perez had decided not to release his ‘Good Smeagol’ bust in kit form. However due to an enthusiastic response he has changed his mind. The bust is approximately 1:4 scale and can be obtained from Dan via his website for a bargain price of $45, but you will need to add shipping.
DP Studios

MOULDART I came across these guys on ebay a while back, where they were selling a rather neat looking Steve Mcqueen kit from the film The Great Escape. Unfortunately every time I saw it there was always something more pressing on the horizon. However Mouldart have come out from the ebay ranks and are now selling direct to the public, and boy you’d better watch this space.
I have their Steve McQueen, and for fans of the Father Ted series – Father Jack – and I have to say if there is a company that will start to push the boundaries of kit producing in this country then I think these are the guys to do it.
In addition to the two kits mentioned above also watch out for a new 8” Hulk bust sculpted by Craig Davison.

NEIL SIMMS Due some time in the next few months from Neil Simms is a 1:1 scale bust – Evil Ash. Once again I am unable to reveal the origins of the character, but it looks suspiciously like something from the The Mummy or the Mummy Returns.

CHRIS ELIZARDO Chris of Estudios has been very busy over the past month or more with many new sculpts being announced, one of which I was too slow to grab a picture of and that was the Shadow. However this particular piece may not see the light of day as the rights are held by another producer.
Also finished, and awaiting a home, is Wolverine.

EVAN SHIPARD This one came out of the blue, but it seems Evan is in the midst of sculpting an Orc bust based on the characters seen in The Two Towers. Initial pictures suggest that he is doing a fine job. No real details as yet, but once they are available I will pass them on.

BTTG Okay this is a new one on me, but in a recent statement BTTG have announced the forthcoming release of Zakuro from a the Japanese TV series Tokyo Mew-Mew. This is a female Anime kit which should prove popular. You can check her out here:
BTTG

KILLER KITS Carrying on their reputation with their range of busts, KK announced their most recent release. Sculpted by Paul Fay it is hoped that this new monster will be ready for the July Memorabilia. Unfortunately I have no details on scale or price.

N&T
Available now from N&T a two part release. This is a bust of Pinhead from the Hellraiser movie series, and to go with it (or under it if you want to be exact) a puzzle box. These pieces can be bought together, or separately, which ever you prefer. Price for the kit version of Pinhead and the Cube £55 (approx. $83), while the cube will empty your pocket of only £20 ($30). Postage is of course extra.
Also from N&T is a new sculpted by Kenneth O`Keefe of Daredevil. Check out the pdf. This bust is available for £30 + postage.
Mentioned last month was three new additions to the Heroes and Villains range of busts from N&T. This time around we have the Ventriloquist, Killer Croc and Bane some of the toughest bad guys to stalk Gothams mean streets. Priced as usual at £35 for the kit versions.

Gabriel Marquez
Guide to the Black Gate or Gollum to you and me, is now available. The initial shipment sold out very quickly but more are expected from Earthbound Studios in three to four weeks. Gabriel informs me that it is retailing for $90 + $5 Priority Post shipping (continental US.) You can pre-order by emailing gsworks@ev1.net Alternatively you can pre-order through Paypal using the same email address: gsworks@ev1.net

Alternative Images
Coming soon from Chuck Needham’s 2bitstudio for Alternative Images are 2 new figure kits. First is a 1:6 scale Christopher Lee Dracula - Horror of Dracula. When available it will come in 6 resin pieces, and will build to an impressive 12” in height. Check out the May pdf for pictures. Next up is an unusual take on Frankenstein (Curse of Frankenstein. Again it is Chris Lee, but unlike other versions this has him still wrapped in his bandages. This piece will be over 12” tall when complete, and will come in 5 parts. According to Chuck someone else is sculpting the bases and details are not available at this time.

5th Sense
5th Sense are re-releasing the Lee Ames sculpted Leon kit that proved so popular a little while back. Featuring Leon with his case, his flower and his gun this is 1:6 scale figure and should retail for around £55. Also back is David Kessler (American Warewolf in London) for a second season after a successful run in the not to distant past is the Lee Ames David Kessler. Again 1:6 and again should come in at around £55.

Neil Simms
Finally, a tribute to two of the best film comedians ever, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. These two busts have been sculpted by Neil Simms, and while they seem closer to the comic book images, they are recognisable enough.

Dan Perez
One minute it was there, the next there it was gone! This is the one that got away. A little while back Dan Perez announced that his Gollum bust was ready and that he was taking pre-orders. Now it seems that he has changed his mind and the bust will not be made available as a kit. Shame.

Producer News
From the newly formed Del Res (for this read Killer Kits) comes a reissue of Abe from the old Timeslip catalogue. Standing at 17” in height, Abe is from the Abes Odyssey.

Coming in April from Killer Kits is 1:6 scale Wolfman diorama titled Pure at Heart, featuring two figures and a highly detailed base. Price not yet confirmed.

X-OFacto are putting out the feelers on a new sculpt by Jeff Yeager. This is the Mummy figure, a’la Christopher Lee (and it is a good likeness) from his time as a Hammer icon. If you have any comments, as John has requested, positive or otherwise let him know. X-O are also trying out some pre-publicity for another kit, I’m not sure of all the details except that it might be called Mutant Leader! But don’t quote me on that. However I do understand it is a 1:6 sculpt by Jeff Yeager.

Neil Simms (of N&T) is currently putting the finishing touches to a full figure J P Monroe cenobite, however I have been lead to believe there is a mystery surrounding this kit. I will be meeting with someone in know later this week, so I will be able to keep you informed of exactly what is going on.

Dan Perez is moving on with his Psylocke sculpt. No news of when it will be ready for casting, but it is looking good. Nice to see some alternative characters coming through from the comic world.

New Kits
Catwoman
This one has been on the cards for a little while now, but
Chris Elizardo has finally finished his much mooted Julie Newmar (Catwoman) bust. To purchase this piece check out CD Productions for a very special deal.

Daredevil
A little static and uninspiring but it is Daredevil, and he is at cinemas now, and there isn’t much else. Unfortunately there are no details of the origins of this kit, if anyone knows anything I would be grateful if you could pass it on.

Freddy Krueger
This is a 1:1 scale bust from
Neil Simms. If you’re a fan of this character it is a must have piece, the detail and likeness are spot on. Picture available in the pdf version. If interested contact Neil direct or try your local supplier, if you don’t have one of those check out Frontier Models.

Batman – Robin – Batgirl
Three new busts from
N&T to add to their Bat Heroes and Villains range. You can’t keep up with these guys. I saw the first ones to come out of the moulds (painted), and I placed an order immediately…hell if they don’t slow down they are going to bankrupt me. They will be retailing at the same price as all of the others in the range, £35 as a kit

Predator
This is a big one from
Newmolds, a two figure 1:3 scale diorama featuring a standing Pred with a dead Alien at his feet. At £225 the price is a big as the kit.

Predator II
New from
Ghost Squadron comes another Predator piece. This time in 1:5 scale, it is highly detailed and just ever-so-slightly different from its peers.

Predator III
Another 1:3 scale Predator from
Newmolds, this one a little more traditional, and if I may say a little boring, but that’s just my opinion. It is also a little cheaper at £165.

The Lab
The Lab, for those unfamiliar with it, is the production arm of the Film and Television Model Club. The aim has always been to offer affordable resin kits, and this is still philosophy on which it is promoted. New to the range is an 1:4 scale bust of Angelus, a character well known to Buffy fans, and a full figure kit of the creature from Pitch Black. While these two are of known characters, the Lab also encourages original work and have added to their catalogue Staked, Gallows Meat and for those in need of a atmospheric back drop a new 1:6 scale Gothic Arch. Photos can be seen in pdf, or alternatively click along to the FTVMC site and follow the shop link. The Lab

Heavenly Bubbles
Hardy Cole, another new name, earns his living as an illustrator, but a short time back he decided to turn his hand to sculpting. Heavenly is the third in a planned 5 kit series, and what a little beauty she is. According to Hardy he is currently preparing the moulds and the finished kits should be ready for dispatch in a couple of weeks. The picture in the pdf does not show the removable 3 piece clear resin bubbled water surface, the cl
